IMTRAS Workshop

Join us for an educational seminar showcasing the Integrated Multi-Trophic Recirculating Aquaculture System (IMTRAS) project at Guahan Sustainable Culture’s Food Resiliency Hub. This informative session will demonstrate how to sustainably produce saltwater species using recirculating technology that transforms waste from one species into nutrients for another, creating a zero-waste approach that contributes to food security while supporting environmental sustainability. Whether you're interested in small-scale backyard aquaculture or considering a larger commercial operation, participants will learn about system components, installation and operation procedures, and take an on-site tour of the active IMTRAS system where you can observe the cultured species, examine components, and engage with researchers about costs, challenges, and opportunities. This workshop is ideal for students, educators, potential aquaculture entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in sustainable food production methods that could help revitalize Guam's aquaculture sector.
