Southside Sunday Farmer’s Market

Powered by: USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, Beginning Farmer Rancher Development Program

Location: Guåhan Sustainable Culture | Food Resiliency Hub, Yona

Piloted: February 2026

At its heart, the farmer’s market was about connection.

It connects people directly to their food and more importantly to the people who grow it.

Each fruit, vegetable, herb, & seedling has a story

of early mornings, unpredictable weather, and dedication to the land & food.

There’s something deeply cultural about gathering this way. The market becomes a rhythm - a place to see familiar faces, exchange recipes, talk story, and celebrate what’s in season.

It’s where knowledge is shared across generations, where traditional foods are honored, and where new ideas take root.

The market featured 15 local farmers, each given the opportunity to vendor at no cost. Together, they offered a diverse selection of seasonal produce, seedlings, grafted fruit trees, fresh eggs, baby livestock, collective of value-added Guåhan products and more.

Future Plans for Growth

We’re excited to share that we’re planning the next phase of growth for our farmers market. We’re working toward expanding the vendor line up - opening the space to more varieties of farmers, food vendors, producers, & community events.

This is just the beginning, more to come as we grow together.
